Continuous Microbial Air Sampler - Genius System

A microbial air sampling modular system consisting of multiple satellites controlled by one software. The last GMP ANNEX 1 introduced a significant change in the microbiological air monitoring in class A and B. In these areas, the microbiological air sampling must be conducted continuously for the entire duration of the production process. This requires a change in the flow rate and in the configuration of the instruments used.

The intelligence of the GENIUS SYSTEM stands in the presence of single satellites which run independently from the others. This means that any satellite can sample different volumes and in different modes. The operator can also disable one or more satellites without any impacts on the other satellites’ features. The pump is integrated, so no more external control unit. This type of configuration is ideal for environments where space is limited, because the satellites are compact with all the essential components built in the head.

The satellites can be maximum 24. The operator installs the satellites, connects them to the PC tablet via a cable and each of them can sample different recipes. Any GENIUS satellite is made by a stainless steel house with a display. The display shows all the steps of the sampling cycle to make sure the operator doesn’t miss anything. Each satellite is provided with an HEPA FILTER which guarantees no particulates are generated by the output air. Additionally, the GENIUS satellites can be combined with remote systems, like the remote head. Data can be viewed by PC tablet with a dedicated software.

  • CONTINUOUS MONITORING – unlike traditional sieve samplers with limited sampling times.
  • INTEGRATED PUMP – GENIUS Satellite combines the sampling head (10 × 10 × 10 cm) with a built-in pump display.
  • SCALABLE MONITORING – a single operator can manage multiple GENIUS Satellites simultaneously.
  • FLEXIBLE INTEGRATION – GENIUS Satellites can be placed in both tight-space isolators and larger RABS, ensuring maximum versatility for different cleanroom configurations.
  • SIMPLE INSTALLATION – quick setup reduces both time and costs.
  • SPACE OPTIMIZATION – compact design with no external pumps or command units, saving space and minimizing clutter.
  • SAMPLING COST SAVINGS – continuous sampling for up to 4 hours reduces the number of media plates required.
  • STANDARDS COMPLIANCE – ensures a smooth transition from traditional sampling methods to advanced monitoring.

The satellites can run at 2 different flow rates: 15 l/min or 25 l/min. These two flow rates, unlike the traditional air samplers designed for short sampling periods, offer continuous monitoring features and represent the best solution for monitoring in grade A and B areas. A different stainless steel aspirating head is requested according to the flow rate.

At 25 l/min, the s/s aspirating head has 180 holes. The maximum time the satellite can sample at 25 l/min is 3 hours without the dehydration of the media.

At 15 l/min, the s/s aspirating head consists of 30 holes in a row. The media plate rotates with a speed according to the volume to sample. Thanks to the flow rate and this new rotating system, it is possible to let the satellite run for 4 hours without any de-hydration of the agar media (under specific conditions).
